A Minnesota Sesquicentennial project sponsored by the Friends of Fort Snelling, the Minnesota Heritage Songbook website provides sheet music, historical background, and MP3 recordings of dozens of songs sung by Minnesota voyageurs, immigrants, loggers, miners, farmers, and Civil War soldiers.

Big Rivers Regional Bike Trail (pdf)
Located along the northern edge of Dakota County between Eagan and Lilydale, Big Rivers
Regional Trail offers a spectacular view of Fort Snelling and the confluence of the Mississippi
and Minnesota Rivers. Big Rivers Regional Trail is part of the Dakota County Park System.

Minneapolis has a wealth of bicycle trails, including one through Minnehaha Park that connects to the bike trail through Fort Snelling State Park.

Mississippi National River and Recreation Area 
The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (MNRRA) is a part of the National Park Service (NPS). Although MNRRA owns only 35 of the approximately 54,000 acres within the MNRRA boundary, the staff work with other agencies to preserve, enhance and make special places available to visitors along the 72 miles of the Mississippi River stretching from the cities of Dayton and Ramsey to just south of Hastings.
