Summer is upon us, and with the summer comes more time outdoors. At the Nature Store at Fort Snelling State Park, we try to carry merchandise that makes that time more enjoyable. We're adding more nature identification guides from the Audubon Society and some new Sibley birding guides. We've also added the Brandenburg book Chasing the Light which effectively brings the Minnesota outdoors into your living room. To make the outdoors a little more enjoyable we're carrying Sawyer's Controlled Release and Broad Spectrum Bug repellent. Controlled Release contains 20% deet, which is suspended in lotion in a protein module, which dissolves as it comes in contact with your skin, slowly releasing the deet throughout the day without absorbing into your skin. It lasts for up to 20 hours. For those who like to hike in the woods, adding the Broad Spectrum spray over the Controlled Release wards off the most stubborn of black biting flies.
We've added bright colorful new things for the young (and the young at heart), and games for the whole family to enjoy together.
